A little more about the person behind the docs and side projects.
I’m Tom Belskie, a technical writer and product-minded builder from the Philadelphia area.
Most of my professional life has been spent making complex software easier to understand: developer docs, release notes, UX content, docs systems, information architecture, and the quiet connective tissue that helps teams explain what they ship.
Outside of work, I build small products because it keeps me close to the full shape of software. Writing the docs is different when you also know what it feels like to wrestle with the product decisions, the blank repo, the weird bug, the launch checklist, and the tiny details that make something feel finished.
The through line
I like tools that make people feel more capable.
That can mean a clear API guide, a calm error message, a focused writing app, a tiny focus ritual, or a launch room that helps a solo founder stop circling the same decision for the fifth time.
A few human facts
- I love golf and, after years of toil, finally broke 80.
- I have seen Dave Matthews Band live more than 50 times.
- I’m from Norristown, PA, and remain extremely Philly about things.
- I self-publish short fiction when I can get out of my own way.
- I believe useful software can have warmth without becoming silly.
If that mix sounds useful, say hello on LinkedIn or send me an email.
